14th Annual Katie Ride

2018 Katie Ride Volunteer Positions

Thank you for considering volunteering with us at the 14th annual Katie Ride.  If you've volunteered with us before, you know what an amazing day it is.  Take a look below at some of the positions we have available.  And thanks so very much, because...

Administrative:  These volunteers help in the Katie Ride office with all the pre-ride prep.  Phone work, materials prep, envelope stuffing and computer work.  Possibly involves some lifting.
Food and Beverage:  These volunteers help prepare breakfast, lunch and snacks on the day of the Katie Ride. Some heavy lifting and carrying involved.
Parking: These volunteers help direct traffic and assist participants with parking on the morning of the Katie Ride.
Post-Ride Wrap:  These volunteers help in the office to get everything back to normal.  Some delivery to vendor partners, administrative and computer work.  Some "thank you" note writing!
Pre-Ride Marketing: These volunteers help promote the Katie Ride by delivering postcards and posters to area businesses.  We like getting the word out so if you live in a neighboring town (Jax Beach, Gainesville or St. Augustine) we could use your help.
Rec Center Assistance:  On the day of the ride we need all sorts of help at the recreation center.  Everything from helping out with registration, in our Katie Gear shop or helping our photographer assemble teams for pictures.  This is where all the action is. There may be some lifting and carrying involved.
Registration:  This busy job involves checking in participants on the day before and on the day of the Katie Ride.
Route Directional:  This job takes place out along the route.  You'll wave a flag and cheer on Katie Ride participants so they don't get lost!
Route Management:  This job takes place out along the route.  These crews drive the support vans and vehicles that assure the safety along the route.  If you are interested in helping keep things run smoothly and have a great driving record (we insure all our drivers), then this might be the job for you!
Signage Placement:  These volunteers go out the day before the ride and place signs along the routes so that participants know where they are going! Heavy lifting and carrying involved.
Sign Pick-Up:  Once the ride is over, these volunteers will pick up signs along the route.  Heavy lifting and carrying involved.
Start/Finish Set Up:  These volunteers set everything up at the Atlantic Rec Center the day before and morning of the Katie Ride.  Heavy lifting and carrying involved.
Start/Finish Breakdown:  These volunteers help take everything down after the Katie Ride.  Heavy lifting and carrying involved.
Water Stops:  These volunteers help at the water stops along the route, providing food and support to participants. Heavy lifting and carrying involved.
